KIM GARY RESTAURANT

This is it! 2nd branch in s'pore
been wanting to visit it the one at JB but never got a chance.
Emma always telling me.. "Next time bah, mom cook already.... "

Blah... 'that next time' never ever happen in the past 4 year lor
Irene and me shall go without you!

wooh.. so excited.
I like HK style food esp baked rice.. missed the one at KL BB Plaza
Hope the baked rice here taste as good eh

And i like Bosco!

They do have a few set menu
just look at the one for baked rice and its 1 page long
price is reasonable too

For just 10.50
you get a soup+ baked rice of your choice + drinks
add $0.30 to $2 for cold or special aloe drinks

We decided to pick these out of the many
pork Chop and chicken Chop baked rice

Look good on the picture
but wonder how it taste like... better be good

Hmm... 1st time i see cutlery container like this
its a tupperware!
why ar?? more special meh??
dun think so...

Now guess what is this?

Its our soups!
in coffee cups...

Haha.. looked this
Oversized soup spoon in a coffeecup
Should we be give teaspoon for drinking soup then?!

Cream Soup -> Not too bad , much much beta than Cafe Cartel
at least its not campbell can soup
Borsch Soup -> Nice, packed with lotsa of goodies. Maybe cup too small
but overall is very nice.. but alittle salty thou.

Next our drinks.
We both ordered the same Cold Yuan Yang, add $0.30 for cold drinks
cuz we didnt wan to top up the $2 for aloe drink

Hmm doesnt taste like Yuan Yang.. alittle too milky for our taste
I think Xin Wang HK Cafe's Yuan Yang taste better.

We order the jam and peanut butter toast we have craving
Picture on the menu look tantalising!
$3 for this thick toast

Very disappointed with this thick toast just by the look of it :(
Isnt it supposed to covered with Peanut butter and dripping with Jam??
Its not.... sob sob

The butter and jam is just not enough
we got sick just eating the plain white bread

it didnt satisfy our craving for thick toast

Last our main course are here
chicken chop baked rice in red sauce for Irene
pork chop baked rice in cream sause for me.

Not enough sauce and cheese for this one
look at that lobang on the side.

chicken chop on the other hand is tender

For this one, every thing looks good!
But sad to say pork chop is very tough
i have to used knife to cut it .. the meat is really tough
my jaws ache....

Under each baked rice, there is a lotus leaf
supposed to make the rice more fragance
but, its not working. No lotus fragant when we smell or eat.
Unlile the one from KL....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hmm overall verdict... $30 for this dinner not worth it
we both agreed will go back to try some other food
but definitely not the baked rice and thick toast.

If I crave for baked rice and thick toast
I guess will go back to Xin Wang HK Cafe
or shall try out C nai HK cafe the next round

VERDICT: **/*****
